cocktail samosa recipe | party samosa recipe with samosa sheets with detailed photo and video recipe. a deep fried snack with vegetable stuffing in a samosa sheets shaped to triangle or cone. basically cocktail samosa is an ideal party snack which can be served as starter or even as appetiser and certainly loved by all gender groups and particularly by kids.

i have posted 2 varieties of samosa recipes till now and this is basically a combination of both the recipes. the stuffing is inspired from the punjabi samosa recipe and the covering is inspired from the onion samosa recipe. moreover this cocktail samosa is very similar to those which is basically sold in shopping mall in the frozen section. in other words, these samosa’s are quick hack to the traditional samosa recipes and can even be deep freeze’d to be prepared later. i typically deep freeze them in a zip lock bag and deep fry those whenever required and serve these to my guests.

while this is an extremely simple party samosa recipe, but few tips and suggestions for a crispy and perfect samosa. firstly, i have used equal proportions of wheat and plain flour to prepare the dough. however only maida can be used to prepare the dough by skipping wheat flour. secondly, the sheets can be deep freeze’d after it has been rolled and fired for 30 -45 secs each. lastly, deep fry the samosa always on low to medium flame. deep frying them on high flame can cause them to turn dark brown with the outer cover and raw with the stuffing.

Ingredients
for samosa patti sheets:
  • ½ cup maida / plain flour / all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup wheat flour / atta
  • salt to taste
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp oil, hot
  • water, as required to knead
for samosa stuffing:
  • 2 tsp oil
  • ½ tsp coriander seeds / dhaniya seeds, crushed
  • 1 onion, roughly chopped
  • ½ tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup peas / matar
  • ½ tsp kashmiri chilli powder / lal mirch powder
  • ½ tsp aamchur powder / dry mango powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2 medium sized potatoes, boiled & peeled
  • ¼ tsp garam masala
  • 2 tsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
other ingredients:
  • oil for deep frying
  • 2 tbsp maida / plain flour / all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp water
Instructions ( 1 cup =255 ml)

  1. firstly, heat oil and saute crushed coriander seeds.
  2. further add onions and ginger garlic paste and chili. saute well.
  3. also add peans and saute.
  4. additionally add spices and salt.
  5. furthermore add boiled potatoes and mix well.
  6. also add garam masala and coriander leaves. good mix.
samosa sheets recipe:
  1. firstly take maida, wheat flour, sugar and salt.
  2. add hot oil over the flour and crumble well.
  3. furthermore knead to smooth dough and rest.
  4. start to roll with a rolling pin as thinly as possible.
  5. furthemore, cut the sides and get to a perfect rectangle shape.
  6. put the sheet on hot tawa and roast both sides.
samosa folding recipe:
  1. firstly, start folding the samosa sheet into triangle and stuff the stuffing.
  2. seal with maida paste.
  3. finally, deep fry to golden brown.

  1. firstly in a large mixing bowl add equal proportion of maida and wheat flour.

  2. further add sugar. sugar helps to get golden brown colour while frying.

  5. further add 2 tbsp of hot oil over the flour. this helps samosa to be crunchy and crispy.

  6. crumble the dough with the help of hand. make sure the oil to mix well with flour.

  7. furthermore add water as required, and start to knead.

  8. knead to smooth and soft dough like chapathi dough.

  9. cover with the moist cloth and rest for atleast 30 minutes.

  10. further, pinch a small ball and dust with wheat flour.

  11. start to roll with a rolling pin as thinly as possible. roll to a rectangle shape.

  13. put the sheet on hot tawa and roast for just 10 seconds. roasting more will make sheets crisp and break while folding.

party samosa stuffing recipe:

  1. firstly in a large kadai heat oil and saute crushed coriander seeds till they turn aromatic.

  2. further add onions and ginger garlic paste and chili. saute well.

  3. also add green peans and saute till they slightly turn tender.

  4. additionally add ½ tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp aamchur powder and salt.

  5. saute on low flame, till the spices turn aromatic.

  6. furthermore add boiled and mashed potatoes and mix well.

  7. also add garam masala and coriander leaves.

samosa folding recipe:

  1. firstly, start folding the samosa sheet into triangle.

  2. further fold in total for 3 times.

  3. furthermore, cone is formed.

  4. stuff the prepared stuffing as mush as possible.

  5. furthermore, with the help of maida paste, apply over the ends of samosa sheet. to prepare maida paste mix 2 tbsp of maida with 4 tbsp of water.

  6. also fold the sheet to form a triangle.

  7. apply maida paste at the tips of cone to avoid oil seeping inside the stuffing. to prepare maida paste mix 2 tbsp of maida with 4 tbsp of water.

  8. further, deep fry into a medium hot oil.

  9. moreover, fry on both sides till they turn golden brown. make sure to fry on medium hot oil.

  10. also drain over a kitchen towel.

  11. finally, serve cocktail samosa with tomato sauce or tamarind chutney.

notes:

  • firstly, roll to a thin pastry sheet to get crunchy samosas.
  • furthermore, instead of deep frying, bake them at 180ºc / 350ºf for 30-40 minutes.
  • additionally, stuffings of your choice to make it more easy and tasty.
  • also use pastry sheets / patti samosa sheets instead of preparing it.
  • finally, double fry cocktail samosas to make it more crunchy and golden in colour.
