coconut burficoconut burfi recipe | kobbari mithai recipe | nariyal barfi recipe with step by step photo and video recipe. coconut barfi is one of the tasty and juicy desserts of india. it is also considered as one of the economical sweets of india. the main reason being, it does not require ghee or clarified butter as compared to other indian sweets. also, coconut barfi can be prepared in a jiffy. unlike other indian sweets, it takes hardly 30 minutes to prepare this amazing barfi recipe. while, it is popularly referred as coconut barfi all over india. but it is also referred as kobbari barfi in kannada, thengai barfi in tamil and naralachi vadi in marathi.

during festival seasons sweets are very common in my house. however, coconut burfi is prepared during each and every festival in my family. while, my mom prepares the same barfi in a different way, i prepare it with desiccated coconut. i do not get the fresh coconut here, hence i have used the desiccated coconut. i personally, prefer this recipe, however a lot of people love to prepare with fresh coconut. this includes my husband as well. perhaps, it could be due to juicy and sweetness factor of fresh coconut. moreover, my mother does not add fresh cream and milk while preparing the coconut barfi recipe. the only sweeting agent in her recipe is just sugar.

kobbari mithai

furthermore, there are several ways of preparing coconut barfi recipe. the most common way is to prepare the sugar syrup and then add the grated coconut. you can easily go wrong with this recipe and with the sugar syrup. moreover you can also prepare the coconut burfi recipe with condensed milk too. i am planning to release this version soon. i personally, recommend this recipe of coconut barfi as it is very easy to prepare. no hassle of preparing the sugar syrup as we just add it to coconut and mix it properly. moreover, if you are a vegan just skip the milk and cream part from this recipe and replace it with water.
