papdi chaat recipe | dahi papri chaat recipe | chaat papri recipe with detailed photo and video recipe. a popular street food of india or traditional fast food of north india which is prepared from crispy flat puri’s. there are several variations to this street food but in this recipe it is mainly prepared by arranging flat puri’s in plate to which it is topped chaat ingredients.

i have already shared the sev puri recipe which i feel is very similar to this recipe. while the sev puri’s are prepared with the puffed puri’s or the puri’s used in pani puri and then later stuffed with the chutney’s, spices and handful of sevs. similarly, the dahi papri chaat recipe has the same toppings but just that it is not stuffed but added on top of the puri’s. further, i even would say it is combination of dahi puri + sev puri as we add dahi as a topping to this delicious papri chaat recipe.

furthermore, some important tips and suggestions for crispy yet spicy papdi chaat recipe. firstly, as mentioned earlier, boiled chickpeas can also be added and topped to this chatpata street food. optionally, if you do not have sprouts than you can ignore it completely. secondly, if you prefer to have a spicy dahi papri chaat recipe, than i would recommend to add red garlic chutney too with green chutney and tamarind chutney. lastly, i have not added chopped tomatoes as i have added yogurt, but if you prefer you are more than welcome to add it too.

Ingredients
  • 7 whole papdi / papri
  • ¼ potato, boiled and peeled
  • handful of moong sprouts, optional
  • 3 tsp green chutney
  • 3 tsp tamarind chutney / imli chutney
  • pinch of chilli powder
  • pinch of chaat masala
  • salt to taste
  • pinch of cumin powder
  • 3 tbsp curd, thick
  • ½ onion, finely chopped
  • handful of sev
  • few coriander leaves, finely chopped
Instructions ( 1 cup =255 ml)
  1. firstly, arrange papdi or papri in a plate.
  2. further, place boiled potato pieces over it.
  3. also spread moong sprouts optionally.
  4. additionally, pour 3 tsp of green chutney and tamarind chutney over the papdis.
  5. furthermore, sprinkle chilli powder, chaat masala and cumin powder.
  6. add in thick whisked curd over papri.
  7. also sprinkle finely chopped onions.
  8. spread generous amount of sev.
  9. additionally, sprinkle salt to taste.
  10. finally, serve papdi chaat recipe or dahi papri chaat immediately along with hot masala tea.
