firstly, pressure cook dal for 5 whistles.
in a kadai heat ghee and add spices.
furthermore, add in chopped onions and ginger-garlic paste. saute well.
also add in chopped tomatoes and saute well.
now add spice powder and salt.
add in pressure cooked dal and mix well.
simmer for 6 minutes and pour the tempering / tadka over dal.
finally, mix the dhaba style dal tadka well and serve with hot steamed rice or roti.
