Ingredients

for gobi frying:

  • 20 pieces gobi / cauliflower florets
  • 1 cup maida / all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp corn flour / corn starch
  • ¼ tsp black pepper crushed
  • ¼ tsp of turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • salt to taste
  • water as required
  • oil for deep frying

for the sauce:

  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds optional
  • ½ onion finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 1 spring onion finely chopped
  • ½ capsicum cubed
  • salt to taste
  • ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 5 tbsp tomato sauce or add as required
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp soy sauce

Instructions

  • chop the gobi into small to medium size florets.
  • boil them in hot water for 2-3 minutes then drain.

batter recipe:

  • in a large bowl mix together take maida, corn flour, soy sauce, black pepper, kashmiri red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  • now add little water and mix well.
  • dip each cooked gobi florets into the batter.
  • drain the fried gobi on a kitchen paper towel to remove excess oil.

gobi manchuri recipe:

  • in a large kadai add 2 tsp oil
  • add chopped onion, ginger and garlic. saute for a minute.
  • then add the chopped spring onions and saute well.
  • next fry chopped capsicum.
  • add salt to taste. also add some chilli powder, tomato sauce, soya sauce and vinegar.
  • now add the deep fried florets and give a good mix.
  • lastly add some chopped spring onions greens and mix.
