Ingredients

  • 1 cup toor dal cooked
  • 20 pieces of drumsticks finger length
  • 1 onions quartered
  • 1 green chilli optional
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • ½ cup tamarind juice
  • 1 tsp jaggery
  • 2 tsp sambar powder
  • few curry leaves
  • few coriander leaves chopped

Instructions

  • in a large vessel add chopped drumstick and onions. also add a cup of water and cook till drumsticks are half cooked. (approx 10 min)
  • now add tamarind extract and cook further for 5 minutes. cook till drumsticks are fully cooked.
  • also add turmeric, jaggery and salt.
  • now add curry leaves
  • also add smashed dal and mix well. bring it to a boil.
  • add 2-3 tsp of sambar powder and get to a boil. (approx 5 min)
  • finally add coriander leaves and serve.
  • serve with rice and ghee.
