- 1 cup toor dal cooked
- 20 pieces of drumsticks finger length
- 1 onions quartered
- 1 green chilli optional
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- ½ cup tamarind juice
- 1 tsp jaggery
- 2 tsp sambar powder
- few curry leaves
- few coriander leaves chopped
in a large vessel add chopped drumstick and onions. also add a cup of water and cook till drumsticks are half cooked. (approx 10 min)
now add tamarind extract and cook further for 5 minutes. cook till drumsticks are fully cooked.
also add turmeric, jaggery and salt.
now add curry leaves
also add smashed dal and mix well. bring it to a boil.
add 2-3 tsp of sambar powder and get to a boil. (approx 5 min)
finally add coriander leaves and serve.
serve with rice and ghee.
