firstly, heat 2-3 tsp of ghee in a pan and fry moong dal for a min. wait till turn fragrant.
furthermore, cook the dal adding 3 cups of water. you can also pressure cook the dal. keep aside
in a separate pan add ghee.
also add finely chopped ginger and saute till the raw smell goes away.
then add fistful of cashew nuts and fry till they turn golden.
furthermore, add jeera and fry well
also add whole black pepper, curry leaves and a pinch of hing
also add rava/sooji to the same pan.
and fry the sooji for couple of mins till it turns to golden brown colour.
now add the cooked dal along with the water and give proper mix.
additionally, add salt to taste.
also add half cup of water if required. mix well the mixture for 2-3 minutes on low flame.
furthermore, stir until moisture dries out and sooji is cooked well. add 1 tsp of ghee on top of the mixture and toss.
finally, serve rava pongal with coconut chutney
