Ingredients

  • 4 slice bread white or brown
  • 1 cup rava coarse
  • ¼ cup rice flour
  • ¼ cup curd
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ ts sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • oil for roasting

Instructions

  • firstly, trim off the bread sides. you can use white or brown bread. however, preparing with white bread makes the dosa crispier compared with brown.
  • cut the bread into pieces and add to a large bowl.
  • add ¼ cup rice flour, ¼ cup curd, ½ tsp salt, ½ ts sugar. sugar is added to give golden colour to the dosa.
  • now add 1 cup water and rest for 20 minutes to soak.
  • after 20 minutes, the bread and rava has soaked well.
  • transfer into the mixi and add water as required.
  • blend to really smooth paste.
  • transfer the batter to the bowl and whisk for 5 minutes to make an airy batter.
  • further, add ¼ tsp baking soda and mix gently.
  • now heat the dosa pan and sprinkle water, wipe off with tissue paper. this helps to cool the tawa slightly, preventing from turning too hot.
  • now pour the dosa batter and spread as thin as possible.
  • pour oil and spread uniformly.
  • roast on low to medium flame until it turns golden brown and crisp.
  • finally, enjoy bread dosa with chutney and sambar.
