Ingredients

  • ½ cup semiya / vermicelli
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • ¼ cup rava
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 cup water
  • ½ onion finely chopped
  • ½ carrot grated
  • few curry leaves chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander chopped
  • 2 chilli finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger grated
  • oil for roasting

Instructions

  • firstly, roast ½ cup semiya until it turns golden brown.
  • cool completely and transfer to a large bowl.
  • add 1 cup rice flour, ¼ cup rava, 1 tsp cumin and 1 tsp salt,
  • pour 5 cup water and mix using a whisk.
  • cover and rest for 10 minutes.
  • now add ½ onion, ½ carrot, few curry leaves, 2 tbsp coriander, 2 chilli, and 1 inch ginger.
  • mix well. you can see the batter is watery. you can adjust the consistency by adding water if required.
  • when the pan is super hot, pour the batter on the pan.
  • spread 1 tsp oil and allow to roast for 2 minutes or until the dosa turns crisp.
  • finally, enjoy the crispy semiya dosa recipe with onion chutney.
