Ingredients

  • 2 raw banana nendrankai / raw nendran plantain
  • ¼ cup water
  • oil for deep frying coconut oil / cooking oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp turmeric / haldi

Instructions

  • firstly, take raw banana and cut the ends.
  • also slit the skin without touching the banana.
  • further, peel of the skin with your hand.
  • heat the coconut oil and reduce the flame to medium.
  • slice the peeled raw banana directly into oil.
  • stir for a minute on medium flame.
  • and now, take a small cup with water.
  • add in salt and turmeric, mix well.
  • further, spread and pour 2 tsp of salt-turmeric water into oil.
  • be careful as oil might splutter little.
  • stir occasionally, till the chips gets cooked well.
  • also cook till the chips turn crisp but do not turn to golden brown.
  • now drain off over kitchen towel to remove excess oil.
  • also allow to cool completely before transferring to airtight container.
  • finally, crispy and tasty banana chips are ready to serve along with tea.
