Ingredients

  • 2 cups maida / all-purpose flour / plain flour
  • ¾ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • salt to taste
  • ¾ tsp sugar
  • ¼ cup curd / yogurt
  • 3 tsp oil
  • water as required to knead

pizza recipe

  • ¼ cup plain flour / maida / all-purpose flour to dust
  • 4 tsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp pizza sauce
  • ¼ cup onion thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup capsicum thinly sliced
  • 7 pickled jalapeños based on spice level
  • ¼ cup black olives chopped
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese grated
  • 1/2 tsp oregano / italian seasonings

how to make pizza dough

  • firstly, in a large mixing bowl take maida.
  • furthermore add baking powder.
  • also add baking soda. do not change the proportion of baking powder and baking soda.
  • add sugar. sugar helps to get golden brown colour while baking and also fastens fermentation process.
  • further add salt and give a good mix.
  • then add curd. use slightly sour curd for fastening fermentation process.
  • additionally add oil to make a soft dough.
  • crumble the dough and mix well.
  • furthermore, add water as required and start to knead.

how to make pizza on tawa

  • firstly, take the pizza dough and knead for 30 more seconds .
  • furthermore, tuck the dough well.
  • also with the rolling pin roll to slightly thick chapati.
  • dust with flour if it sticks to the rolling pin.
  • further, leaving a cm or more and create a dent. this helps the crust to fluff slightly.
  • then prick with centre of dough with the help of fork to prevent pizza base from fluffing up like chapati.
  • transfer the base making sure the pricked side is facing up on to the medium hot non stick tawa.
  • roast for 30-40 seconds on medium heat till the bubbles start to appear.
  • immediately, take off the pizza base and grease the tawa with olive oil.
  • then flip over the pizza base making sure the pricked side is facing down.
  • furthermore, keeping the flame on low spread pizza sauce.
  • also top with onions and capsicum.
  • further, top jalapeños and black olives.
  • then spread generous amount of grated mozzarella cheese over the base.
  • then apply olive oil over the sides of pizza crust.
  • sprinkle oregano and cover with a lid.
  • once the cheese melts immediately cut into slices.
  • finally, serve pizza hot with chilli flakes and oregano on top.
