Ingredients

for rava dough:

  • 2 cup water
  • 1 cup rava / suji fine
  • 2 tbsp butter

other ingredients:

  • 2 cup rice flour
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds / til
  • 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • pinch hing / asafoetida
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ cup water to knead
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  • firstly, in a large kadai take 2 cup water and get to a boil.
  • once the water comes to a boil, add 1 cup rava and cook well.
  • now add 2 tbsp butter. keep stirring until the rava absorbs water and starts to separates the pan.
  • further add 2 cup rice flour, 1 tbsp sesame seeds, 1 tsp chilli powder, pinch hing and 1 tsp salt.
  • crumble and mix to form a moist flour.
  • add ¼ cup water and knead dough.
  • start preparing chaklis and deep fry in hot oil.
  • finally, serve crispy and rava murukku / sooji chakli with masala tea or masala milk.
