Ingredients

  • 1 cup rava / semolina / suji coarse
  • ¼ cup maida
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup curd
  • ½ onion finely chopped
  • few curry leaves chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander chopped
  • 2 chilli finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin

Instructions

  • firstly, in a bowl take 1 cup rava, ¼ cup maida, ½ tsp salt, and ¼ tsp baking soda.
  • mix well making sure everything is well combined.
  • now add 1 cup curd and mix well.
  • make sure to have a thick batter. cover and rest for 20 minutes.
  • after 20 minutes, the rava has absorbed well.
  • further add ½ onion, few curry leaves, 2 tbsp coriander, 2 chilli, 1 inch ginger, and 1 tsp cumin.
  • mix well making sure everything is well combined. add few drops of water if required.
  • wet your hands with water, and pinch a ball-sized dough.
  • drop in hot oil, keeping the flame on medium.
  • stir occasionally, until the bonda turns golden brown and crisp.
  • drain off to remove excess oil.
  • finally, enjoy rava bonda with coconut chutney and tea.
