Ingredients

  • 1 cup besan / gram flour
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • ¼ tsp turmeric / haldi
  • ½ tsp kashmir red chilli powder / lal mirch powder
  • pinch of hing / asafoetida
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • water as required
  • oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • firstly, in a large mixing bowl take 1 cup besan and 2 tbsp rice flour.
  • also add ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp chilli powder, pinch of hing, ¼ tsp baking soda and ½ tsp salt.
  • now add water and prepare a thick batter.
  • directly into hot oil, take small holes perforated spoon and pour besan batter.
  • fry golden and crisp. also fry cashews and curry leaves.
  • finally, mix everything and serve khara boondi.
