Ingredients

  • 2 cup rice
  • 1 cup kala chana
  • ½ tsp methi
  • water for soaking
  • 1 tsp salt
  • oil for roasting

Instructions

  • firstly, in a large bowl take 2 cup rice, 1 cup kala chana and ½ tsp methi.
  • rinse well and soak in water for at least 6 hours.
  • transfer the soaked rice and chana into a mixer grinder.
  • grind to a slightly coarse paste adding water as required.
  • transfer the batter to a large bowl and beat with a hand to aid fermentation.
  • cover and ferment for 8 hours.
  • now add 1 tsp salt and mix gently.
  • heat the dosa pan, and spread the batter thin.
  • pour in half tsp oil.
  • cover and roast the dosa until it turns golden brown and crisp.
  • finally, enjoy chana dosa recipe with chutney.
