Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp oil
  • ¾ cup peanuts
  • 2 tbsp cashew
  • 2 tbsp almonds
  • 2 tbsp dry coconut sliced
  • few curry leaves
  • 2 dried red chilli
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 big bowl murmura / puffed rice
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • ½ tsp black salt
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp aamchur
  • pinch hing

Instructions

  • Firstly, in a large kadai heat 3 tbsp oil and fry ¾ cup peanuts on low flame.
  • Once the peanuts turn crunchy, keep them aside.
  • In the same oil, fry 2 tbsp cashew, 2 tbsp almonds, 2 tbsp dry coconut, few curry leaves, and 2 dried red chilli in batches.
  • Keep aside once they turn crunchy.
  • Keeping the flame on low, add 1 tsp turmeric and 1 tsp salt. Saute till the turmeric turns aromatic.
  • Now add 1 big bowl murmura and mix gently.
  • Fry for 3 minutes or until the murmura turns crunchy.
  • Transfer to the the large bowl, add 1 tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp black salt, 1 tbsp powdered sugar, ½ tsp aamchur, and pinch hing.
  • Mix well making sure all the spices are well combined.
  • Add in fried nuts and mix well.
  • Finally, enjoy Murmura Chivda Recipe topped with chopped onions.
