Ingredients

  • 2 cup ragi flour
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 carrot grated
  • 2 chilli finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger grated
  • 2 tbsp coriander finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp dill leaves chopped
  • few curry leaves chopped
  • 2 tbsp sesame
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • pinch hing
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp coconut grated
  • hot water
  • ghee / oil for roasting

Instructions

  • Firstly, in a large plate, take 2 cup ragi flour, 1 onion, 1 carrot, 2 chilli, 1 inch ginger, 2 tbsp coriander, 2 tbsp dill leaves, few curry leaves,2 tbsp sesame, ½ tsp cumin, pinch hing, ½ tsp salt and 2 tbsp coconut.
  • Squeeze and mix well, ensuring everything is thoroughly combined.
  • Now pour hot water and mix well.
  • Squeeze and mix, making sure everything is well combined.
  • Now take a wet cloth. You can alternatively use butter paper or a banana leaf. If the banana leaf is not tender, heat it slightly and then grease it with oil.
  • Take a ball-sized dough and tap gently to a thin thickness.
  • Make four holes; this will help roast as we can add oil in the centre.
  • Now flip over to hot tawa and press gently, peel the cloth off.
  • Now add oil and roast both sides until they turn slightly golden.
  • Flip over once the base is cooked.
  • Finally, enjoy Ragi Rotti Recipe with coconut chutney.
