Ingredients

  • ¼ cup ghee
  • 2 tbsp cashew
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 2 cup rava / suji coarse
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  • Firstly, in a kadai, heat ¼ cup ghee and roast 2 tbsp cashews, 2 tbsp raisins.
  • Roast till the nuts turn golden brown. Keep aside.
  • In the same ghee, add 2 cups of rava and roast on a low flame.
  • Roast till the rava turns aromatic and slightly changes colour.
  • Also, add 1 cup of desiccated coconut and roast until it turns aromatic. Make sure not to brown, as the colour of the ladoo changes.
  • Transfer to the large plate and cool slightly.
  • In the kadai, take 1¾ cups of sugar and ½ cup of water.
  • Stir and boil till 1 string sugar syrup is attained.
  • Add in roasted rava and coconut. Mix well.
  • Cook till the mixture just comes to a boil. Do not overcook as the ladoo will turn hard.
  • Now transfer the mixture to the large plate and cool slightly.
  • Once the mixture cools, it will be moist and easy to shape into ladoos.
  • Add in roasted nuts, ½ tsp cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Shape the ladoo to the size of your choice. If the mixture is dry, add 2 tbsp of milk and mix well.
  • Finally, Rava Ladoo Recipe is ready to enjoy for a month.
