Ingredients

  • ½ cup ghee / clarified butter
  • 1 cup besan / gram flour
  • 1 cup wheat flour / atta
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 5 cashew / kaju chopped
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • 5 almonds / badam chopped

Instructions

  • firstly, in a large kadai heat ½ cup ghee.
  • add 1 cup besan and 1 cup wheat flour.
  • roast on medium flame until the flour is combined well.
  • now keep the flame on low and roast on low flame.
  • mash the flour to break any lumps if present.
  • continue to roast for 25 minutes, or until the mixture turns aromatic and golden brown.
  • transfer to the bowl and allow to cool slightly.
  • now add 1 cup powdered sugar, 5 cashew and ¼ tsp cardamom powder.
  • mix well making sure the sugar is combined well with mixture. do not over mix as the sugar and ghee melt.
  • start to prepare small ball sized balls.
  • finally, atta besan ladoo recipe stays good for a week when refrigerated.
