Ingredients

  • 1 bunch dill leaves / shepu / suva / sabsige chopped
  • ½ cup moong dal soaked 30 minutes
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 3 chilli finely chopped
  • pinch hing
  • 1 onion chopped
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  • Firstly, in a large kadai heat 2 tbsp oil. Add 1 tsp mustard, ½ tsp cumin, 3 chilli, pinch hing and splutter on medium flame.
  • Add 1 onion and saute until the onion softens.
  • Also add ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp salt and saute until the spices turn aromatic.
  • Now add in ½ cup soaked moong dal and stir fry until the dal turns aromatic. Make sure to soak the moong dal for 30 minutes and drain off the water before adding.
  • Add in 1 bunch chopped dill leaves and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Further add ½ cup water and mix well.
  • Cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until the dal is cooked well.
  • Finally, enjoy Shepu Bhaji Recipe with roti or rice.
