Firstly, in a large kadai heat 2 tbsp oil. Add 1 tsp mustard, ½ tsp cumin, 3 chilli, pinch hing and splutter on medium flame.
Add 1 onion and saute until the onion softens.
Also add ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp salt and saute until the spices turn aromatic.
Now add in ½ cup soaked moong dal and stir fry until the dal turns aromatic. Make sure to soak the moong dal for 30 minutes and drain off the water before adding.
Add in 1 bunch chopped dill leaves and saute for 2 minutes.
Further add ½ cup water and mix well.
Cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until the dal is cooked well.
