Firstly, in a large bowl take 1 cup rava and soak it in 2 cup of milk for at least 30 minutes.
In a large kadai take 1 cup ghee and 1 cup sugar.
Keep stirring on low to medium flame until the sugar melts.
Continue to cook until the sugar caramelizes and turns golden brown.
Now add soaked rava and mix well.
Keep mixing making sure everything is well combined.
The sugar may crystallize, do not worry, as when you continue to cook, sugar melts.
Cook until the rava absorbs all the milk and turns golden brown.
Further, add ½ tsp cardamom powder and 2 tbsp cashew.
Mix well making sure the ghee releases from the sides. Do not overcook, as the halwa turns hard and won't be soft and moist.
