Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup rava / suji, fine
  • 2 cup milk
  • 1 cup ghee
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp cashew, chopped

Instructions
 

  • Firstly, in a large bowl take 1 cup rava and soak it in 2 cup of milk for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a large kadai take 1 cup ghee and 1 cup sugar.
  • Keep stirring on low to medium flame until the sugar melts.
  • Continue to cook until the sugar caramelizes and turns golden brown.
  • Now add soaked rava and mix well.
  • Keep mixing making sure everything is well combined.
  • The sugar may crystallize, do not worry, as when you continue to cook, sugar melts.
  • Cook until the rava absorbs all the milk and turns golden brown.
  • Further, add ½ tsp cardamom powder and 2 tbsp cashew.
  • Mix well making sure the ghee releases from the sides. Do not overcook, as the halwa turns hard and won't be soft and moist.
  • Finally, enjoy Makhandi Halwa Recipe topped with nuts.
