Ingredients

for roasted jeera powder:

  • 2 tbsp cumin

for onion tomato raita:

  • 1 cup curd
  • 2 tbsp onion chopped
  • 2 tbsp tomato chopped
  • 2 chilli chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander chopped
  • pinch roasted jeera powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • water as required

for cucumber raita:

  • 1 cup curd
  • 2 tbsp cucumber
  • ½ tsp pepper powder
  • pinch roasted jeera powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp coriander chopped
  • water as required

for pomegranate raita:

  • 1 cup curd
  • 2 tbsp carrot grated
  • 2 tbsp pomegranate
  • 1 inch ginger finely chopped
  • few curry leaves chopped
  • few mint chopped

Instructions

How to make Roasted jeera powder for raita:

  • Firstly, in a heavy-bottomed pan take 2 tbsp cumin and roast on low flame.
  • keep roasting until the cumin changes colour.
  • after some time the colour of cumin turns black and an earthy aroma comes.
  • transfer to the mortar pestle and crush them to a fine powder.
  • Finally, roasted cumin powder is ready and can be used for raita and chaats.

How to make onion tomato raita:

  • Firstly, in a large bowl take 1 cup curd and whisk smooth.
  • add 2 tbsp onion, 2 tbsp tomato, 2 chilli, 2 tbsp coriander, pinch roasted jeera powder and ½ tsp salt.
  • Mix well making sure everything is well combined
  • Add water as required and adjust the consistency.
