Ingredients

For Besan Batter

  • 1 cup besan gram flour
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp chaat masala
  • ½ tsp chilli flakes
  • Pinch of hing
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup water

Vegetables

  • ½ onion finely chopped
  • ½ carrot grated
  • 1 tomato finely chopped
  • 3 beans chopped
  • ½ capsicum chopped
  • 2 green chilli chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves

Other Ingredients

  • 6 bread slices
  • Butter for roasting

Instructions

  • In a bowl take besan, turmeric, cumin powder, chaat masala, chilli flakes, hing and salt.
  • Add water gradually and prepare a smooth, flowing batter without lumps.
  • Whisk the batter well for a smooth consistency.
  • Add onion, carrot, tomato, beans, capsicum, green chilli and coriander.
  • Mix well until everything combines evenly.
  • Dip the bread slice into the batter and coat well on both sides.
  • Top extra vegetables over the bread for better texture and flavour.
  • Heat a tawa and spread a little butter.
  • Place the coated bread on a hot tawa and roast on a medium flame.
  • Apply a little butter on top and flip gently.
  • Roast both sides until golden, crisp and crunchy.
  • Finally, serve Besan Bread Toast Recipe hot with green chutney, ketchup or masala chai.
