Firstly, in large kadai add some water before adding 2 litre milk.
Stir and get the milk to a boil.
Now add 2 tsp lemon juice and continue to boil stirring uniforly.
You can see, the milk starts to get grainy texture.
Continue to boil till the milk reduces.
Add in ½ cup sugar in batches to prevent sugar from turning mixture watery.
Keep boiling and adding sugar in batches.
Continue to boil, till the milk thickens and turns creamy consistency.
Now add 1 tsp ghee and continue to cook till the mixture starts to separate the pan.
Add in ½ tsp cardamom powder, 1 tsp ghee and give a good mix.
Transfer to a tray lined with baking paper.
Cover and rest for 30 minutes, to set completely.
Finally, cut into desired pieces and enjoy Mawa Burfi.
