Ingredients

  • 2 litre milk
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  • Firstly, in large kadai add some water before adding 2 litre milk.
  • Stir and get the milk to a boil.
  • Now add 2 tsp lemon juice and continue to boil stirring uniforly.
  • You can see, the milk starts to get grainy texture.
  • Continue to boil till the milk reduces.
  • Add in ½ cup sugar in batches to prevent sugar from turning mixture watery.
  • Keep boiling and adding sugar in batches.
  • Continue to boil, till the milk thickens and turns creamy consistency.
  • Now add 1 tsp ghee and continue to cook till the mixture starts to separate the pan.
  • Add in ½ tsp cardamom powder, 1 tsp ghee and give a good mix.
  • Transfer to a tray lined with baking paper.
  • Cover and rest for 30 minutes, to set completely.
  • Finally, cut into desired pieces and enjoy Mawa Burfi.
