instant neer dosa recipe | neer dose with rice flour | ghavan recipe with detailed photo and video recipe. basically and instant and thrifty version of the traditional south canara or udupi cuisine neer dosa recipe. neer dosa is ideal south indian breakfast recipe which can be enjoyed with coconut based curries, chutney recipes or even popular chicken curry or kori gassi recipe.
i have already shared the traditional version neer dosa recipe, but i wanted to share this instant version too. i personally love neer dosa and this instant version as it saves a lot of of time. however, my husband love the traditional version and he prefers an extra coconut flavour in neer dose recipe. basically, in udupi or south canara region the neer dosa is prepared with coconut flavour and fresh coconut is added while grinding the soaked rice. i totally agree that adding coconut and grinding the soaked rice makes this recipe perfect. but instant neer dosa recipe is a life saver and the batter can be prepared within minutes in jiffy.
while this recipe does not have much complicated steps, yet i would like to share few tips and trick for instant neer dosa recipe. firstly, i have used fine rice flour for this recipe and it works great for instant version. there are multiple varieties of rice flour and i would recommend the fine version for this recipe. alternatively, you can also use the coarse version and beat them in mixer grinder with little water till it forms thin batter. secondly, ghavan recipe or neer dose recipe tastes great when served immediately. i personally love neer dosa with peanut chutney or onion chutney, but any coconut based curry should also tastes great.

Ingredients
- 1 cup rice flour / akki hittu
- salt to taste
- 1½ cup water, or as required
- oil for roasting
Instructions
- firstly, in a large mixing bowl take 1 cup rice flour and add salt to taste.
- add in 1½ cup water, or as required.
- mix with the help of whisk to avoid forming lumps.
- add more water if required, and get to flowing consistency.
- now heat dosa tawa very well.
- add a tsp of oil and wipe off with the help of kitchen towel.
- pour the prepared dosa batter over tawa. you should be able to see some holes forming while pouring batter over tava. thats the right consistency of batter. if not you need to add some more water.
- cover the dosa with a lid. and allow to cook on medium flame.
- scrape from sides once the dosa is cooked completely.
- finally, serve instant neer dosa with chutney or coconut-jaggery mixture.
how to make instant neer dosa with rice flour with step by step photo:

notes:
- firstly, you can replace water with coconut milk for more authentic flavour.
- also, the batter of neer dosa should be watery, else the dosa will not form holes.
- additionally, pour dosa on very hot tawa, later simmer and cook.
