Aloo Cheela Recipe | Aloo Ka Cheela or Aloo Chilla | Potato Pancakes with step-by-step photo and video recipe. Cheela’s recipes are always easy and tasty dishes which can be prepared within minutes. Similar to the traditional besan cheela recipe, the aloo cheela recipe can be prepared within minutes, and it tastes better than it. I love it as an evening snack, but you can experiment with it for lunch and dinner.

Morning breakfast is an integral part of our day-to-day meal, and I try to make it healthy and tasty. But things can be tricky, especially when you have a small window during those busy mornings, and you may compromise with one aspect. But the potato-based pancake can be your answer for one of those working days. The best part of Aloo Cheela is that it does not require much preparation time. Unlike the other popular South Indian breakfast recipe, which typically involves grounding or overnight fermentation, this dish has no complicated steps. Yet still, it is so tasty and healthy, and it has all the myriad nutrients required to kick-start your day.

Potato Pancakes

The recipe is straightforward, yet there are some tips, recommendations, and suggestions for serving it. Firstly, I strongly recommend grating the potatoes as fine as possible. The grating can be time-consuming, so alternatively, you can use boiled and mashed potatoes. Secondly, if you are planning to use boiled potatoes, then be sure to remove the cooked potatoes immediately once they are pressure-cooked. They should not absorb water and moisture free. Lastly, Aloo ka Cheela can be an excellent tiffin box recipe, especially when served with tomato sauce. But ensure you quickly microwave it for 30-45 seconds before consuming it. Potato pancakes can be easily relished without any particular side dish but taste excellent with spicy green chutney.
