i have posted quite a few gulab jamun recipes in my blog, but i always wanted to post a video recipe using mtr jamun mix. to be honest, jamun is one of the first recipes i started to make during my college days. having said that i never thought, i would ever end up making a sponsored video post for mtr foods using jamun mix. my family was so excited when they got the news about our partnership with mtr. we use mtr products on a day to day basis and it is indeed an honour to be part of mtr and that too jamun mix.
furthermore, i would like to add some tips, suggestions and variations for a perfect moist mtr gulab jamun recipe. firstly, there isn’t any rocket science to make jamun using mtr jamun mix. it comes with necessary steps to make it. yet you may have to take an extra step while kneading the jamun dough. secondly, try to make the jamun balls with even shape. as a matter of fact, i have measured each ball to be 12 gram each before shaping it. lastly, you may need to take extra measures while deep frying these balls. it has to be deep-fried in low to a medium flame by continuously pouring oil on top of it. also i have used ghee or clarified butter for deep frying, you can use vegetable oil too.

Ingredients
sugar syrup:
- 800 grams sugar
- 800 ml water
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tsp rose essence
for jamun:
- 175 grams mtr gulab jamun mix
- water, for kneading
- oil or ghee, for frying
Instructions
- firstly, prepare sugar syrup by boiling 800 grams sugar and 800 ml water.
- boil for 5 minutes or until syrup turns sticky.
- for extra flavour add ¼ tsp cardamom powder and 1 tsp rose essence. cover and keep aside.
- in a bowl add 175 grams mtr gulab jamun mix.
- add ¼ cup water and mix gently to form the dough.
- make a soft and smooth dough without over kneading.
- grease the hand with ghee and prepare small ball sized jamuns.
- heat the oil / ghee on medium flame and when the oil / ghee is moderately hot, fry the jamuns.
- fry the balls on low flame stirring in between.
- drop the fried gulab jamuns into the warm sugar syrup.
- cover the lid and rest for 20 minutes.
- finally, the mtr gulab jamun has doubled in size. serve warm with ice cream or cold.

- firstly, make sure to prepare crack free balls to prevent from breaking while frying.
- also, drop the jamun in medium hot oil and later fry on low flame.
- additionally, you can stuff the jamun with dry fruits to get a crunchy bite.
