unlike other traditional chaat recipes, corn chaat recipe can be prepared within minutes. it is prepared with corn kernels and readily available spices in your kitchen. moreover even the frozen sweet corn kernels can be used if the fresh one’s are not available. i have used the fresh one in this recipe and hence the recipe was ready within 10 minutes. but removing the kernels from corn stem is time consuming. so alternatively, use frozen corn kernels. but having tasted both from frozen and fresh kernels, i can suggest that both taste good and hence frozen corn kernels are better and time saving.
there are no complex steps in this recipe of corn chaat, yet some variations and tips while preparing it. firstly, the recipe of masala corn is completely open ended with respect to adding vegetables. you can extend it by adding finely chopped onion, carrots, capsicum, lettuce, cucumber and also stir fried broccoli. secondly, in this recipe i have used fresh corn kernels and i boiled it with water before using. alternatively you can use store bought canned sweet corn kernels or frozen corn which are typically semi boiled and can be used directly after washing it. lastly, add chilli powder if you are preparing it as a chaat recipe and green chilies if you are treating it as salad recipe.
