Shankarpali Recipe | Sweet Shakarpara Recipe | Sweet Shakkar Para with step-by-step photo and video recipe. Shankarpali or Shakkar para is a typical South Indian or Maharashtrian snack which is also known as a sweet tukdi recipe. It can be prepared either as a savory or sweet snack and can be used as a munching snack for evening tea. But most commonly it is one of the important snacks during the Diwali festival season.
I have already shared the savory version of Shankapali but I was getting several requests for a sweet version or Shakkar para recipe. I was waiting for the Diwali festival season to arrive. Having said that I prepare it frequently as the Sweet Shakarpara Recipe is my husband’s favorite snack. He takes it office as a munching snack and as side dish with this lunch box. Having said that he does not prefer the other version of Sweet Shakkar para which is soaked in sugar syrup. It is too sweet for him and he likes it to be a subtle snack than a sweet dish. In addition, it has become a favorite snack for my daughter too. She often takes it to for her tiffin boxes and shares it with her friends. Do try this and I am certain you and your family members would love it.
Furthermore some easy tips and recommendations for a perfect crisp sweet shankarpali recipe. Firstly, add a tsp of rava while kneading dough for extra crisp texture. Also, make sure to dissolve sugar well before adding maida. Secondly, the selling point of this recipe is its shape. Diamond shapes make it special hence the name of the snack. However, you may share any other desired shapes as per your preferences. Lastly, fry on low to medium flame, or else the shakkar para will remain raw from the inside and won’t taste great. Also, fry these in small batches and do not overcrowd them in the deep frying pan.
