instant malpua recipe | easy malpua recipe with milk powder with detailed photo and video recipe. basically a sweet pancake snack or dessert recipe prepared mainly with all purpose flour and thick sugar syrup. having said that there are several varieties to the popular malpua recipe which varies from region to region. but the most popular recipes are bengali malpua, odia malpua and rajasthani malpua recipe.
there are several varieties to the traditional malpua recipe which basically differs with the batter. especially in eastern part like bengal and odia, the batter contain traces of fruits on top of maida and rabdi. the usage of fruits varies with seasonal tropical fruits like banana, mango and pineapple. out of these banana malpua is widely practised and more popular compared to others. however the mapua from northern india including rajasthan and uttar pradesh may not contain fruits and rabdi takes a lot of importance. also in addition the batter may contain sour yoghurt on top of maida, rava and milk. the batter is also left for fermentation for couple of hours and then poured on hot oil. later it is dipped in sugar syrup before serving.
furthermore some important tips and recommendations for a perfect, creamy and rich instant malpua recipe. firstly, use wheat flour instead of maida if you are looking for wheat malpua or healthy malpua recipe. also, whisk the batter smooth without having lumps in batter. finally, fry the malpuas on low flame to evenly cook from inside and soak in warm sugar syrup for atleast 5 minutes. if you prefer more sweet, then soak for 30 minutes.

Ingredients
for batter:
- 1 cup maida / plain flour / all purpose flour
- ½ cup milk powder, full cream
- 2 tbsp rava / semolina / suji
- ½ tsp fennel / saunf, crushed
- 1 cup milk, as requried
for sugar syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder / elachi powder
other ingredients:
- oil for frying
- few dry fruits, to garnish
Instructions
- firstly, prepare the malpua batter by taking 1 cup maida, ½ cup milk powder, 2 tbsp rava and ½ tsp crushed fennel.
- add in 1 cup milk or as required and whisk.
- whisk smooth adding more milk as required.
- check for smooth flowing consistency thick batter.
- rest for 20 minutes or till batter turns light.
- now prepare the malpua by pouring 2-3 tbsp of batter in a ladle over hot oil.
- shallow fry in medium hot oil.
- flip over and fry both sides till the malpua gets cooked completely.
- drain off the oil and dip in sugar syrup.
- soak the malpua on both sides for 5 minutes or till it absorbs sugar syrup.
- finally, garnish instant malpua recipe with few chopped dry fruits.
how to make instant malpua with step by step photo:

- add in ¼ tsp cardamom powder and mix well.
- cover and keep aside.
- now prepare the malpua by pouring 2-3 tbsp of batter in a ladle over hot oil.
- shallow fry in medium hot oil.
- flip over and fry both sides till the malpua gets cooked completely.
- drain off the oil and dip in sugar syrup.
- soak the malpua on both sides for 5 minutes or till it absorbs sugar syrup.
- finally, garnish instant malpua recipe with few chopped dry fruits.
notes:
- firsrtly, prepare a lump free malpua batter adding milk as required.
- also adjust the consistency of batter for making thin malpua or thick malpua accordingly.
- additionally, fry on low to medium flame to prevent from burning and evenly cooking.
- finally, instant malpua from milk powder taste great and last for a week when refrigerated.
