About Mango Kheer:

It is an easy and simple milk dessert recipe with a generous amount of milk pulp as a topping to the milk pudding. In other words, milk kheer or milk payasam is an extension of the traditional kheer recipe with the addition of sweet mango pulp to it. It can be a perfect dessert for any kind of meal, including for any occasion and celebration feast.

In South India, it is also known as mango payasam, and can be prepared with jaggery as the sugar alternative. Adding jaggery can be a healthy alternative and also it may introduce a dark brown color making it more visually appealing. Ingredients
  

  • 1 tsp ghee
  • ½ cup semiya
  • 1 litre milk
  • 3 tbsp custard powder
  • ½ cup condensed milk
  • 1 cup mango

Instructions
 

  • firstly, in a pan heat 1 tsp ghee and roast ½ cup semiya.
  • roast until the semiya turns golden brown. keep aside.
  • in a large kadai heat 1 litre milk until it comes to a boil.
  • once the milk comes to a boil, add roasted semiya and mix well.
  • simmer for 5 minutes, or until the semiya is cooked well.
  • now in a small bowl take 3 tbsp custard powder and ½ cup milk.
  • mix well making sure there are no lumps.
  • add in prepared custard milk and cook until the kheer thickens.
  • further, add ½ cup condensed milk and mix well.
  • cool the kheer completely.
  • now grind 1 cup mango into a smooth puree.
  • add in prepared mango puree into the semiya kheer and mix well.
  • finally, enjoy Mango Kheer Recipe with mango puree and nuts.
