as i mentioned earlier, these type of cookies or biscuits are generally made during christmas time and are shared with friends and family with other christmas cakes. the main difference between this cookie and other traditional cookies is the use of custard powder. i make it for no reason and i personally like to for its appearance and obvious reason of its taste. basically the combination of cream colour from plain flour with the colourful tutti frutti makes it more appetite. also i have tried the same recipe with wheat flour which would make it healthy but certainly not tasty. hence i would not recommend that but it is completely optional up to you and an individual choice.
furthermore, before wrapping up, some tips, suggestions and variations for tutti frutti cookies recipe. firstly, in this recipe i have used only tutti frutti as a topping and no other fruits and nuts. yet this recipe can be extended further by adding combination of dry fruits like cashews, almonds and raisins. secondly, do not add single flavoured or coloured tutti frutti and try to make it more colourful as much as possible. particularly the kids would like it when it is more attractive and colourful. lastly, these cookies generally has a longer shelf life and hence store it in a dry air tight container.
