as i was explaining the recipe is very much inspired from its far cousin dahi vada recipe. basically the way the yoghurt, green chutney and red chutney are used in this recipe is very similar. however, the recipe is further extended by adding other ingredients like tomato and onions make it very unique. i personally like the combination of the crispy texture of flat papdi or puri with spicy, sour and sweet wet ingredients. this recipe is an ideal choice to be served for guests as it hardly requires more than 10 minutes if papdi and chutneys are handy. moreover, there is a wide opportunity to extend and experiment with myriad different ingredients as per your choice.
anyway, i would like to add some more tips, suggestions and variations to this dahi papdi chaat recipe. firstly, while i would heavily recommend making these flat puri at home, but maybe time-consuming or too much effort. hence you may get ready-made from stores and start assembling right away. secondly, the curd or dahi has to be beaten thoroughly before it is used for any chaat recipes. basically, it has to be silky smooth like cream and can be poured or topped easily on chaat dish. lastly, once the dish is assembled it has to be served immediately. due to the use of wet ingredients, it may turn soggy if not used right away.

- 3 tbsp chickpea, boiled
- 3 tbsp onion, finely chopped
- 5 tbsp curd, whisked
- 3 tsp green chutney
- 3 tsp tamarind chutney
- pinch chilli powder
- pinch cumin powder
- pinch chaat masala
- pinch salt
- 1 tbsp tomato, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp sev
- 1 tsp coriander, finely chopped
Instructions
- firstly, in a serving plate take 13 papdi. to prepare homemade papdi using wheat flour check out my papdi recipe.
- top with 3 tbsp potato and 3 tbsp chickpea.

notes:
- firstly, adjust the amount of curd to your choice. however, it tastes divine with a generous amount of curd.
- also, if your curd is sour then add a tsp of sugar and mix well.
- additionally, use fresh papdi, else the chaat will not taste good.
- finally, dahi papdi chaat recipe tastes great when served immediately.
