These do serve their purpose but there are so many chemical-free or naturally available ingredients that have been practiced by our ancestors. One such easy and simple traditional Postpartum food after delivery for a mother is these ladoos which can also be known as gond ladoo.

I have been asked several multiple times, to post recipes on Postpartum Healing & Lactation Recipes. During my first pregnancy, I was exploring and learned about such recipes. However, in my second I have learned a lot and I would like to post the same with some videos. Out of all, my personal favorite is this ladoo recipe which is not only beneficial due to obvious reasons but also a pleasant experience consuming it. Particularly the diet after c section has to be a careful one, at least that is what I have practiced. Perhaps, I would post another article on foods to avoid after cesarean delivery, but this is dedicated to the food to eat after c section. In near future, I would add more recipes to this post particularly to improve Lactation and lose weight after the c section. But this simple ladoo recipe would definitely help gain energy and improve breakfast milk for almost everyone.

Postpartum Healing & Lactation Recipe Furthermore, some additional tips, suggestions, and variants to this post on food after delivery for mothers. Firstly, even though this recipe should be very helpful for nursing mothers, however, every family has its own tradition and ritual. I would heavily recommend following it or giving it a higher priority and using this ladoo as a top-up. Secondly, the ratio of each nut, edible gum, and raisins have to be followed as instructed. Avoid using any alternative ingredients or skipping some as they may be not that effective. Lastly, these laddu’s are prepared without any additional sugar or jaggery sweetness. The combination of nuts and dates should provide the necessary sweetness, but if you like more sweetness, you may add powdered jaggery as per your sweet preference.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 3 tbsp gond / edible gum
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds / khus khus
  • 1 cup dry coconut, grated
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 1 cup almonds, chopped
  • 1 cup cashew, chopped
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 3 tbsp pistachios, chopped
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 3 tbsp pumpkin seeds
  • 3 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 6 anjeer, chopped
  • 400 grams dates paste
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder

Instructions
 

  • firstly, in a pan heat 2 tbsp ghee and fry 3 tbsp gond on low flame.
  • fry until the gond puffs up and turns crystal.
  • cool completely, and crush slightly. keep aside.
  • in the pan dry roast 2 tbsp poppy seeds until it starts to pop.
  • further, add 1 cup of dry coconut and roast until it turns aromatic and golden brown.
  • transfer to the same plate and allow to cool slightly.
  • further heat 2 tbsp ghee. add 1 cup almonds, 1 cup cashew, 1 cup walnuts, and 3 tbsp pistachios.
  • roast until the nuts turn crunchy and golden brown.
  • also add 1 cup raisins, 3 tbsp pumpkin seeds, and 3 tbsp sunflower seeds.
  • roast until the seeds turn crunchy.
  • transfer to the same plate and allow to cool completely.
  • further, add ½ tsp cardamom powder and mix all the ingredients well. keep aside.
  • in a large kadai take 2 tbsp ghee, 6 anjeer and 400 grams of dates paste.
  • cook on medium flame until the dates paste starts to melt and turns into a paste consistency.
  • add in roasted nuts and mix well.
  • combine and mix until all the ingredients are well combined. dates help in binding the nuts.
  • when the mixture is still warm, start shaping it into ladoo.
  • finally, enjoy dry fruits ladoo or store them in an airtight container for a month.

  • firstly, make sure to roast the nuts on low flame to prevent them from burning.
  • also, you can add dry fruits and nuts of your choice to make it nutritious.
  • additionally, adding dates paste helps in binding. so do not reduce the quantity.
  • finally, dry fruit ladoo can be given to new moms as it helps in postpartum healing & improves Lactation.
