there are several brands who do offer instant badam mix powder which has to be just mixed with the boiling milk. while it certainly a time saver, but be cautious about these products. these are generally prepared with high sugar concentration for better taste of badam milk drink. in addition it may also contain chemical preservatives for long shelf life. more importantly the instant mix powder may not be fresh and hence you may find foul smell in your almond milk. therefore i would recommend this traditional way of preparing the badam milk recipe if you are planning for your kids or pregnant women.
while it is extremely simple to prepare a healthy badam milk recipe, yet few tips and recommendations. firstly, note that this is a almond flavoured milk or drink prepared with fresh cow’s milk. do not confuse it with the almond extracted milk which is typically used in vegan cooking. secondly, the almond milk can also be mixed with poha or beaten rice and served to kids as a solid food. but makes sure to check your sugar content while serving to kids. lastly, you can also powder the de skinned almonds and store it for future use.

Ingredients
- ¼ cup approx. 30 badam / almonds
- 2¼ cup milk
- few thread saffron / kesar
- 3 tsp sugar
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder / elachi powder
Instructions
- firstly, soak ¼ cup badam in hot water for 30 minutes.
- peel off the skin of badam and transfer into small blender.
- add in ¼ cup milk and blend to smooth paste. keep aside.
- now in a large kadai heat 2 cup milk stirring occasionally.
- add in prepared badam paste.
- also add few thread saffron and 3 tsp sugar. stir well.
- simmer for 5 minutes or till milk thickens.
- additionally, add in ¼ tsp cardamom powder and stir well.
- finally, serve badam milk or almond milk hot or chilled garnished with few saffron.
how to make almond milk recipe with step by step photo:
