I have posted quite a few summer beverage recipes, but this recipe derived from coffee is unique and special. The main reason being the use of it. Unlike other summer fruit or vegetable juices, cold coffee is served as an alternative, primarily. Most of us are addicted to caffeine intake and perhaps our day does not start without it. Well, in summer having a hot beverage can be tricky for obvious reasons and we crave something chilled. Iced coffee is the best alternative in such situations. Moreover, the way the chilled coffee is prepared and the taste preference can be different. Hence it can be prepared in myriad ways. I have tried to capture the 4 most basic and popular ways. However, you may experiment as per your taste and preference.

Instead of using water ice cubes, you may add instant coffee powder to the water and freeze it in an ice cube tray. This would be more appealing and have more caffeine kick. Secondly, in the iced coffee variant, I have used full cream milk with sugar mixed into the coffee brew. As an alternative, you may use condensed milk with sugar skipped in the brew. Lastly, the quality of water matters a lot while preparing this chilled coffee. I would emphasize using filtered and chilled water for all the variants shown in this post.

  • 3 tbsp warm water
  • 1½ cup chilled milk

for iced cold coffee:

  • ice cubes

  • 3 tbsp warm water
  • ½ cup chilled milk

for chocolate cold coffee:

  • 1 tbsp coffee powder
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp warm water
  • 1½ cup chilled milk
  • ice cubes

for cold coffee with ice cream:

  • 1 tbsp coffee powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp warm water
  • 1½ cup chilled milk
  • ice cubes
  • 1 scoop ice cream

  • finally, pour the cold coffee with more coffee powder if required.

  • in a tall glass take ice cubes and pour in prepared coffee decoction.
