as i mentioned earlier, there are several ways to prepare this molten cake recipe. the most common one is to prepare it by egg white and mix it with chocolate syrup. the other popular way is to prepare it from plain flour which is very similar to basic chocolate sponge cake. the liquid molten chocolate syrup can be either prepared in 2 ways. the common way is to insert the dark cooking chocolate at center of cake batter before baking. or the other was is by pulling out the cake from oven before it is completely baked inside. further the chocolate lava cake recipe can also be prepared with wheat flour too for non gluten recipe.
furthermore, i would like to share some basic tips and suggestions for a perfect molten chocolate lava cake recipe. firstly, you can prepare the same recipe with wheat flour too, however i personally recommend the plain flour option. secondly, i have used dark cooking lindt chocolate which easily melts and forms runny chocolate at the center. do not use other eatable chocolates which may contains sugar or caramelized syrup which would not melt easily. lastly, and more importantly always use high quality chocolate and do not use chocolate chips for eggless molten choco lava cake. usually chocolate chips does not melt and do not have lava in it.

Ingredients
- ½ cup maida / plain flour / refined flour / all purpose flour
- ¼ cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
- pinch of salt
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 12 chocolate pieces
- ¼ cup oil / butter
- ¾ cup milk
- 4 small cups, ramekins or aluminium moulds
Instructions
- firstly, sieve ½ cup maida, ¼ cup cocoa powder, ½ cup powdered sugar, ¼ tsp baking soda, ½ tsp baking powder and pinch of salt.
- also add in 1 tsp vanilla extract and ¼ cup oil / butter.
- further add half cup milk and combine with the help of whisk.
- gradually add more milk until batter is well combined and smooth.
- make sure to get flowing consistency cake batter.
- grease the ramekins or aluminium moulds with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
- pour the batter to ¾ of the the prepared moulds.
- also place in 3 chocolate pieces in centre of each cup.
- with the help of spoon, gently push the chocolate pieces inside and cover with batter.
- preheat and bake for 15 minutes at 180 degree celsius or 350 degree fahrenheit.
- allow it to cool for about 5 minutes before removing.
- now scrape the sides with a knife and invert onto plate, pat gently.
- additionally, sprinkle powdered sugar on top to decorate.
- finally, serve eggless choco lava cake immediately with vanilla ice-cream or some berry.

- firstly, use small cups, else you must add more chocolate pieces inside.
- also grease the moulds well else, will be difficult to unmould.
- additionally, use wheat flour inplace of maida for more healthy choco lava cake.
- finally, if you want to serve eggless choco lava cake later, serve by heating in microwave.

Hi ..I loved the recipe..but I have a very basic version of microwave… Heated for 5 minutes ..din’t come well and even chocolate dint melt.
preheat for 10 minutes..
Do I use microwave + convection mode? And for how long?
follow the same temperature and time even when baking in microwave (convection mode)
