Paneer Ki Sabji | Quick Paneer Curry Recipe | Paneer Sabzi Recipe with detailed photo and video recipe. An easy and simple gravy-based curry recipe made with paneer, tomato, and onion base. Perhaps one of the quick and simple paneer recipes that can be made with minimal ingredients. It can be easily served with most Indian flatbreads or roti but can also be served as a side for rice & different types of dal.

Paneer Ki Sabji | Quick Paneer Curry Recipe | Paneer Sabzi Recipe with step-by-step photo and video recipe. Paneer curries have always been a premium recipe in Indian cuisine. However, these curries are generally fancy and may require additional spices and ingredients to make an ideal fancy curry. But it can also made as a simple no-fuss with minimal ingredients, yet not compromising on its taste and flavors.

I have posted several paneer curries till now and most of them are the premium curries from the restaurants. They either need fancy pre-made spices or may contain additional ingredients as a taste enhancer. But I wanted to post something simple to make like most of our curries with onion and tomato base. Also, I was getting several requests from my readers to post some basic paneer curry recipes. Hence I decided to post and name it simple paneer ki sabji or quick paneer curry. In this, I have added basic whole spices to get the extra flavor, which can be ignored but I would not recommend it. Moreover, you can easily experiment with other choices of vegetables or even combine the vegetables to this recipe to make a mixed veg recipe.

In addition, some more tips, suggestions, and variations to the paneer ki sabji. Firstly, I would heavily recommend using moist and fresh paneer for this recipe. As a tip, it is best to use fresh and moist paneer for all the curries. It would help to absorb the curry flavor into it and thus improve the taste. Secondly, in this recipe, I have not added additional ingredients like cashew paste or full cream/malai. But adding these will make the curry more curry and premium. Lastly, I have added ghee tempering for the desi flavor. Using ghee is not mandatory and hence you can use simple cooking oil or butter for the same result.

Paneer Ki Sabji or Quick Paneer Curry can be an ideal gravy curry that can be served with multiple types of Indian flat breads like roti and chapati but not limited to. There are different types of paneer ki sabzi across India, but the most popular way is dhaba-style curry. Ingredients
  

for paneer marination:

  • 15 cube paneer / cottage cheese
  • ยผ tsp turmeric
  • ยฝ tsp chilli powder
  • ยฝ tsp ginger garlic paste
  • ยผ tsp salt
  • 3 tsp oil, for roasting

for curry:

  • 1 tbsp ghee / clarified butter
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin / jeera
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 pod black cardamom
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 2 pod cardamom
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • ยผ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ยฝ tsp cumin powder
  • ยฝ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cup tomato puree
  • ยฝ cup curd
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi, crushed
  • 2 tbsp coriander, finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • firstly, in a large bowl takeย 15 cubes paneer, ยผ tsp turmeric, ยฝ tsp chilli powder, ยฝ tsp ginger garlic paste and ยผ tsp salt.
  • mix well combining all the spices well.
  • cover and rest for 30 minutes or more for marination.
  • now heatย 3 tsp oil and saute marinated paneer.
  • do not overcook the paneer as it turns rubbery. keep aside.
  • in a large kadai heatย 1 tbsp ghee and 2 tbsp oil.
  • add 1 tsp cumin, 1 bay leaf, 1 pod black cardamom, 1 inch cinnamon, 2 pods cardamom and 4 cloves.
  • saute on low flame until the spices turn aromatic.
  • now addย 1 onion,ย 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and saute until the onions turn golden brown.
  • further keeping the flame on low, addย ยผ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, ยฝ tsp cumin powder, ยฝ tsp garam masala and 1 tsp salt.
  • saute on low flame until the spices turn aromatic.
  • addย 2 cup tomato puree and mix well.
  • cover and cook for 10 minutes or until the oil separates.
  • keeping the flame on low, addย ยฝ cup curd and stir continuously.
  • keep cooking until the curd is well combined.
  • now addย 1 cup water and mix well adjusting the consistency as required.
  • further, add cooked paneer and mix well.
  • cover and simmer for 5 minutes or until the flavours are well absorbed.
  • addย 1 tsp kasuri methi,ย 2 tbsp coriander and mix well.
  • finally, enjoy paneer ki sabji with roti or rice.

Notes

  • Firstly, make sure to marinate the paneer for a rich juicy paneer.
  • Also, whisk the curd well, else there are chances for the curd to curdle.
  • Additionally, you can add cream or cashew paste to get a thicker consistency,
  • Finally, the paneer ki sabji recipe tastes great when prepared slightly oil and spicy.
