matar paratha recipe | matar ka paratha | green peas paratha with step by step photo and video recipe. north indian cuisine has myriad flatbread recipes which are generally made with wheat or maida or combination of both. one such variation is to stuff the vegetables within the flatbread which makes it spicy and savoury in taste. matar paratha recipe is one such healthy variation prepared with fresh green peas and other spices.

unlike the traditional paratha recipes, i have prepared matar ka paratha with a different approach. traditional parathas are stuffed with the choice of spiced vegetables within it before roasting it. however, in this recipe, i have blend peas into dark green puree. later i added this puree while kneading the wheat dough and hence skipping the entire cumbersome stuffing process. basically, the recipe is very similar to methi thepla or palak paratha where there is no stuffing and the vegetable puree is added directly to the dough. this ensures the vegetable mix is evenly distributed without much effort and also makes it easy to roll the matar ka paratha.

furthermore, some easy and important tips and suggestions while preparing the matar paratha recipe. firstly, as shown in this recipe, preparing the paratha with puree is optional. you can also follow the traditional process by preparing the peas stuffing and stuff inside paratha. secondly, i have used frozen green peas which do not require soaking and pressure cooking. however, i have boiled the green peas in microwave for 4 minutes and it should be more than sufficient for the frozen one. lastly, unlike any other paratha, green peas paratha can be kept easily for 2 days. it is ideal paratha recipe for travelling and can be served without any accompaniment.
