i have shared quite a few variant with the kathi roll recipes, but this is a unique recipe with the combination of 2 street style cuisines. in this recipe, i have prepared the schezwan noodles specifically for this roll but any variation of noodles can be used for it. moreover you can also use any leftover noodles from your previous night dinner take away and wrap it up in a roti for a quick bite in the office or for your kids. i even extend the same recipe with maggi noodles by adding some dice veggies like broccoli, carrots, beans and snow pea. so basically you do not have prepared this recipe with the traditional rice or vermicelli noodles and tastes equally good with it.

furthermore some easy alternations, tips and serving ideas for a perfect noodles frankie recipe. firstly, the recipe tastes great with chapathi or leftover thin roti’s. having said that you can also use store-bought wraps including wholemeal, or plain flour wraps. secondly, i have added schezwan sauce while preparing noodles as stuffing for kathi roll. but if you are serving it for kids, then i would recommend using tomato ketchup with chilli powder as required. lastly, if you are planning to use leftover roti, then make sure to heat it before assembling the wrap. ideally, apply some butter on top of the roti while heating it.

Ingredients
  

for noodles:

  • 3 tsp oil
  • 3 tbsp spring onion, chopped
  • ¼ capsicum, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cabbage, shredded
  • 2 tsp schezwan sauce
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 cup noodles, cooked

other ingredients:

  • 4 chapathi, leftover
  • butter for roasting
  • 4 tspschezwan sauce
  • 4 tsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp chaat masala

Instructions
 

  • firstly, heat kadai with 3 tsp oil and saute 1 tbsp spring onion.
  • also, saute ¼ capsicum and 1 cup cabbage till they cook slightly.
  • now add 2 tsp schezwan sauce and ¼ tsp salt. saute for a minute.
  • add in cooked noodles and mix gently coating well with sauce.
  • further, add 2 tbsp spring onions and give a good mix. keep aside.
  • now heat a tawa with ½ tsp butter and warm up chapathi.
  • spread 1 tsp schezwan sauce and 1 tsp tomato sauce over chapathi.
  • place handful of noodles in centre of chapathi.
  • sprinkle some chaat masala.
  • now roll tight making sure the stuffing is intact.
  • wrap the roti in an aluminium foil or butter paper.
  • finally, serve schezwan noodles frankie or pack to kids lunch box.
