i have shared a quite a few momos recipes but i was getting several request for a spicy and tasty momos chutney recipe. i had previously shared a momos sauce recipe but did not had an video and hence i thought of sharing it with a video. the recipe i have shared in this recipe post, it similar to street style and is mainly prepared with ripe tomatoes, garlic, soaked almonds with other spices. in addition, i have added chinese cuisine sauces like soy sauce and vinegar which brings the perspective of indo chinese cuisine. in total the recipe is combination of indian flavour and taste with the uniqueness of chinese flavours.
furthermore, some variation and tips while preparing the spicy and tasty momos chutney recipe. firstly, i have added 4 kashmiri red chillies to this chutney recipe which makes it optimal spice level. but if you feel it is less or even more than you can easily experiment by adding more black pepper for more spice level or minus the red chillies. secondly, i have added almonds which neutralises and balances the spice level with chutney fiving creamy texture. having said that it can be replaced with other nuts like cashews and also peanuts which should have the same effect. lastly, i have tried to achieve medium thickness consistency which can be easily varied as per the preference.

Ingredients
- 2 cup water
- 3 tomato, ripened
- 4 dried red chilli
- 4 clove garlic
- 1 inch ginger
- 5 almonds / badam, blanched
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp vinegar
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tsp soy sauce
Instructions
- firstly, in a deep bottom pan, take 2 cup water and add 3 tomato, 4 dried red chilli.
- boil for 5 minutes or till tomatoes start peeling its skin.
- cool down the blanched tomatoes and chilli.
- once it is cooled down, remove the skin of tomatoes.
- transfer the peeled tomatoes and red chilli into blender.
- also add 4 clove garlic, 1 inch ginger.
- further, add 5 almonds to have a good thickness to sauce.
- additionally add 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp vinegar, ¼ tsp salt and 1 tsp soy sauce.
- blend to smooth paste without adding water.
- finally, momos chutney is ready to enjoy with wheat momos or veg momos.
how to make momos chutney with step by step photo:

notes:
- firstly, if you like momos sauce to be spicier, add 1 or 2 extra red chillies.
- in addition, adding almonds would make the chutney thicker in consistency however it is optional.
- additionally, adjust the amount of sugar depending on the tanginess of tomatoes.
- finally, momos chutney stays good for a week or more when refrigerated.
