easy gulab jamun recipe | instant gulab jamun with ready mix recipe with detailed photo and video recipe. basically a simple and easy version of gulab jamun recipe prepared from ready mix or instant gulab jamun mix. the recipe is prepared with gits gulab jamun mix which is prepared in just 3 steps.
in this post i have used gits ready to make gulab jamun mix recipe and the same steps and procedure can be followed with any instant mix recipe. between, i have already shared the traditional gulab jamun recipe with milk powder. however i am sharing this recipe, because i was getting several request for a video post with instant gulab jamun mix. i personally like the former recipe with milk powder and i feel it is more healthy and tasty. having said that, instant gulab jamun with ready mix is a life saver for bachelors or naive cook or enthusiastic.
while with the instant mix, there isn’t much complicated steps, yet i would like to share some tips for easy gulab jamun recipe. firstly, i highly recommend to use fresh ready mix for a soft and juicy gulab jamun. hence, do check the manufacture date and expiry date before buying it from your store. secondly, i have used milk to knead the gulab jamun mix, however plain water can also be used to knead. milk is an good option as the result would yield more softer and creamier jamun. finally, i have used ghee to deep fry the jamuns, however oil can also be used. if oil is used, add 1 tbsp of ghee to it and then deep fry.

easy gulab jamun recipe | instant gulab jamun with ready mix recipe
Ingredients
- 1½ cup sugar
- 1½ cup water
- few strands of saffron / kesar
- 3 cardamom, powdered
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 cup instant gulab jamun mix, i have used 100 grams gits gulab jamun mix, you can use any brand of choice
- 3 tbsp milk, warm
- oil / ghee for deep frying
Instructions
- firstly, in a large pan take 1½ cup sugar and 1½ cup water.
- also add few strands of saffron / kesar and get to a boil.
- further simmer for 4 minutes or till sugar syrup turns slightly sticky.
- switch off the flame and add cardamom powder and lemon juice.
- sugar syrup is ready, cover and keep aside.
- now in a mixing bowl take 1 cup instant gulab jamun mix.
- add 2 tbsp of warm milk and combine dough.
- make a smooth and soft dough.
- furthermore, make small balls greasing ghee to hands.
- make sure there are no cracks on balls.
- heat the ghee on low flame and when the ghee is moderately hot, fry the jamuns.
- fry the balls on low flame stirring in between.
- fry till the balls turns golden brown. drain and keep aside.
- immediately, drop the hot jamuns into hot sugar syrup.
- cover the lid and rest for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
- finally, the gulab jamun have doubled in size. serve warm with ice cream or warm.
how to make easy gulab jamun recipe with step by step photo:
- firstly, in a large pan take 1½ cup sugar and 1½ cup water.
- also add few strands of saffron / kesar and get to a boil.
- further simmer for 4 minutes or till sugar syrup turns slightly sticky. (do not get sugar syrup to 1 string consistency)
- switch off the flame and add cardamom powder and lemon juice. lemon juice prevents sugar syrup from crystallising.
- sugar syrup is ready, cover and keep aside.
- now in a mixing bowl take 1 cup instant gulab jamun mix (approx. 100 grams).
- add 2 tbsp of warm milk and combine dough.
- make a smooth and soft dough adding milk (1-2 tbsp) if required. do not over knead the dough as jamuns turns hard.
- furthermore, make small balls greasing ghee to hands.
- make sure there are no cracks on balls. else there are chances for gulab jamun to break while frying.
- heat the ghee on low flame and when the ghee is moderately hot, fry the jamuns.
- fry the balls on low flame stirring in between.
- fry till the balls turns golden brown. drain and keep aside.
- immediately, drop the hot jamuns into hot sugar syrup. else jamuns wont absorb syrup, results to hard gulab jamun.
- cover the lid and rest for 30 minutes to 2 hours. flame should be turned off.
- finally, the gulab jamun have doubled in size. serve warm with ice cream or warm.
notes:
- firstly, fry the jamun on low to medium flame, else it wont get cooked from inside.
- also, add milk as required and knead to smooth dough.
- furthemore, stuff the jamuns with dry fruits if you prefer.
- finally, gulab jamun with instant mix taste great when they are soft and juicy.

For some one who is showing us how to cook how can you do that. please show us real guluab jamun. I know in the west we don’t get mawa so it is usually milk powder substitute. Please show us a milk powder recipe. Thanks for your other recipes.
