i have posted so many types of pizza recipes which include both internal and external toppings. but this recipe has to be one of the simple and easy pizza variant recipes. even though i have shown on how to make basic aloo patties with this post, this can be made with any store-bought patties too. basically, you just add the pizza toppings on top of the patties while it is shallow or pan-fried and enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee. i personally make this variant, when i like to have both indian and junk food together. technically, you may not want to refer to the pizza and toppings as junk food here, but a combination of these 2 snacks makes it obviously. do try this simple snack and let me know your thoughts about it.

furthermore, some more additional tips, suggestions and variants to the aloo tikki pizza on tawa. firstly, this recipe is dedicated to the aloo pizza and hence aloo patties are the best choice for this snack. yet, you may use all types of patties, tikki’s for this recipe to make it more exciting and interesting. secondly, i have used the instant pizza sauce, i.e, a combination of tomato sauce and chilli sauce with mixed herbs and chilli flakes. however, if you have access to the authentic pizza sauce, you may very well use it. lastly, instead of using the small aloo tikki’s you may prepare large tikki, similar to pizza bread. this would be more authentic with its shape, size and also the serving.

Ingredients
 

for potato tikki:

  • 2 potato (boiled & mashed)
  • ¼ cup corn flour
  • ½ tsp chilli flakes
  • ¼ tsp pepper powder
  • ½ tsp mixed herbs
  • ½ tsp salt
  • oil (for frying)

for pizza:

  • pizza sauce
  • onion
  • capsicum
  • tomato
  • sweet corn
  • olives
  • cheese
  • chilli flakes
  • mixed herbs

Instructions
 

  • firstly, in a large bowl take 2 potato and ¼ cup corn flour. corn flour helps to absorb moisture from potato and holds shape while frying.
  • also add ½ tsp chilli flakes, ¼ tsp pepper powder, ½ tsp mixed herbs and ½ tsp salt.
  • mix well making a soft dough.
  • now grease hands with oil and pinch a ball sized dough.
  • shape to tikki and shallow fry in hot oil.
  • flip over once the base turns golden brown.
  • fry the tikki on both sides until it turns golden brown and crisp.
  • drain off the aloo tikki, and keep aside.
  • to prepare pizza, place the tikki in another pan with less oil.
  • spread 1 tsp pizza sauce on each tikki.
  • also top with onion, capsicum, tomato, sweet corn, olives and cheese.
  • further, sprinkle chilli flakes and mixed herbs.
  • cover and simmer for 2 minutes or until the cheese melt completely.
  • finally, enjoy crispy aloo tikki pizza.
