furthermore, some more additional tips, suggestions and variants to the onion tikki recipe or pyaaz ki tikki. firstly, the recipe is made with wheat flour to have a healthy option for the snack. yet it can also be made with other flour like maida and a combination of maida and wheat. adding maida makes it a tasty snack meal. secondly, i have shaped these like pockets and hence named them onion pockets. but it can be shaped like a samosa or even like kachori as the shape does not impact the taste. lastly, if you have any leftover stuffing, you may use it to prepare paratha or even patti samsoa. i generally make this stuffing in excess and use it for various other snacks or bread.

notes:

  • firstly, make sure to prepare the stuffing just before making tikki. as the onion will release moisture and makes tikki soggy.
  • also, make the stuffing slightly spicy, else the onion pockets will taste bland.
  • additionally, instead of steaming, you can directly fry them in hot oil.
  • finally, pyaaz ki tikki or onion pockets recipe tastes great when served hot.
