The recipe for Chilli gobi is very simple, with very less ingredients, and similar to the gobi manchurian recipe. So the main ingredients for this recipe are gobi or cauliflower, corn flour, maida flour, capsicum, and chilli sauce. Initially, corn flour and all-purpose flour are used to make thin batter in which the gobi florets are dipped and deep fried to prepare crispy gobi fritters. Corn flour is added to make the fritters crisp and to hold the shape. Later these fritters and stir-fried in chilli plus tomato ketchup sauce with onion and capsicum petals. Lastly, it is garnished with spring onion and served immediately. Optionally, it can be served with added tomato sauce or even Schezwan sauce to add a sweet and spicy taste.
While the recipe is extremely simple, yet a few tips and suggestions for a spicy chilli gobi recipe. Firstly, if you are planning to prepare for kids then make sure to reduce the spice level by using less chilli sauce and green chillies. You may skip green chilies and serve with just capsicums to make it less spicy. Secondly, always use fresh gobi or cauliflower for the Gobi Chilli or Manchurian recipe, otherwise, the result may be soggy and less crisp. In addition, you may add mushroom or paneer cubes to make a combo chilli recipe. Lastly, I have not added Ajinomoto (msg) to this recipe, however, you are more than welcome to add it.
