Roti Wrap Recipe | Leftover Chapati Wrap Recipe with step-by-step photo and video recipe. Wrap or sandwich recipes are not new to Indian cuisine, and they can be prepared in myriad ways. This does not mean that there is no innovation to the existing traditional recipes and it has continuously evolved with many surprises. One such innovative and exciting new trend is the roti wrap made with leftover roti with cheese, veggies, and paneer.

Honestly, I have posted quite a few similar recipes with leftover roti, including roti sandwiches and chapati rolls. However, this recipe is still unique, particularly with the arrangement of stuffing and how it is folded. I guess folding is the most tricky and overwhelming part when we prepare a wrap with roti or chapati. If the stuffing proportion is not relative to the size of the roti, the stuffing would ooze out or may not hold its shape. However, with this new technique, the stuffing distribution is even with the easy folding method. Perhaps, the only selling point of this wrap is its folding. I have shown another easy way which may not be attractive, but indeed the most simple wrap. Do try these wraps for your next morning breakfast and I am sure you would love it.

In addition, do visit my other related and additional tips, suggestions, and variants to the roti wrap recipe. Firstly, I have used leftover rotis for this recipe which is easy to handle and fold. However, leftover is not mandatory and you can use freshly prepared roti. If you are preparing freshly, you can use plain flour, with wheat flour to make it more flexible. Secondly, the stuffing is open-ended and you can use any combination of veggies, condiments, and dips. However, try to balance the flavor with your stuffing. Lastly, I have pan-fried these wraps to keep them basic and minimal. You may use even a toaster to toast it with some butter applied to it.

About Leftover Roti Wrap:

It is basically an extended version of the Kathi roll or Frankie roll recipe with similar stuffing but a totally different folding method. In other words, roti wrap is a combination of a sandwich and a Kathi roll with the best of both. The fillings for these wraps are completely open-ended and can be customized or mixed and matched as per individual preference. The most common way to prepare this is with cheese, paneer, and vegetable-based stuffing with dips and condiments.

Initially, the concept of chapati wrap was popularised with the short video trends on social media platforms. However, these wraps have hit street food vendors and have become a big instant hit. The most common reason is the type of stuffing these wraps can take and also due to the way they can be folded. Overall, it is an easy and convenient way to utilize the leftover rotis and make it interesting particularly with fussy eaters like kids.
