while you can find several vrat or fasting recipes on my blog. however, i personally, do not keep any fasting or any vrat during festival season. i prepare these recipes for my day to breakfast, lunch and dinner. i also add, ginger and curry leaves when i prepare sabudana recipes. however, in this recipe of sabudana thaipeeth i have skipped those and i have kept it simple and authentic. moreover, with the same dough you can easily prepare crispy sabudana vada as well.

furthermore, i want to highlight the reason why sabudana is served during vrat fasting. usually, for any fasting, all the grain food is prohibited. however, sago or sabakki is a non grain food. moreover, sabudana is full of carbs and also a energy booster by producing more glucose. hence it is ideal and consumed during fasting. interestingly, sabudana does not contain any vitamins or minerals. therefore, it is recommended to have sabudana recipes with either milk or dry fruits. this makes an ideal balanced diet during vrat or fasting.

finally, i request you to check my other sabudana recipes for breakfast and fasting. especially, sabudana vada, sabudana khichdi, sabudana idli, puliyogare and pulihora recipes. also do visit my collection of no-onion-no-garlic recipes section for other fasting recipes. specifically, aloo ki poori, spicy shankarpali, sev tomato sabzi, instant chakli recipes.
