Ginger Tea Recipe | Adrak Wali Chai | Ginger Milk Tea with detailed photo and video recipe. an easy and simple tea recipe made with milk, tea powder and a generous amount of ginger. basically, the recipe is an extension of the normal chai or milk tea with a strong flavour of ginger and cardamom with a small hint of cinnamon. it is an ideal beverage during the monsoon or winter season as it provides the necessary warmth with it.
Like any other Indian family, our day does not start without a sip of freshly boiled milk tea. we have untold and never discussed patterns for our morning tea. I prepare the basic or no fancy tea during the week which is just made with tea powder and milk. not even sugar in it! but for the weekend it’s my husband’s duty to make spicy and sharp tea with ginger and cardamom in it. the idea of having something fancy on the weekend is due to the ample amount of time you have in the early morning. it means you can be patient till the milk, tea powder and spices are boiled together thoroughly. in other words, when the milk and tea powder with spices are boiled together, it ends up with a thick and creamy texture which would eventually make an ideal spicy masala chai.
Furthermore, some of the easy and important tips, suggestions and variations for a perfect ginger tea recipe or adrak wali chai. firstly, I would always recommend using full cream milk for a thick and creamy milk tea. use skim milk if you are not comfortable with full cream milk. also, do not begin the process with milk use water and boil the tea powder and spice with it and add milk once it is boiled. secondly, on top of the ginger and cardamom, you can also add spices like black pepper, clove and cinnamon mixture as chai masala. alternatively, you can also use store-bought chai masala. lastly, avoid reheating the prepared tea and serve it immediately once it is prepared. it is better to make it fresh and serve it rather than reheating it as the taste may turn bitter.
