gobhi ke kofte recipe | gobhi ka kofta | gobi kofta curry recipe with detailed photo and video recipe. a unique gravy based curry recipe made with cauliflower spiced dumplings or veggie balls. the recipe is an extension to the popular paneer kofta or perhaps any meat-based meatballs or kofte curry. the recipe is simple and easy to make but can be time-consuming as both veggie balls and gravy has to be prepared.
i have posted several kofte recipe till now, but i personally believe the gobhi ke kofte is the most economical and easy one to make. the main reason being the affordability and accessibility of cauliflower. it is available almost everywhere compared to the other veggies which can be seasonal or can be pricy too. but these factors do not compromise on the taste and end result. as a matter of fact, once the kofte balls are made with gobi, it would be difficult to identify if it made with paneer or with minced meat. in this recipe, i have used grated gobi mixed with boiled potatoes and paneer which makes it an aloo gobi kofte. but aloo is added in almost every kofte as it helps to shape and hold the shape of gobhi ka kofta.
furthermore, i would like to highlight some tips, suggestions, variations while making this gobhi ke kofte recipe. firstly, always use a fresh cauliflower for this recipe, as freshness would help to hold the shape of kofta. if the cauliflower has started to change its colour, you may have to add more potatoes to maintain its shape. secondly, you can experiment the same kofta balls by kipping grated paneer with boiled potatoes. adding moist homemade paneer would make the kofta soft and juicy. lastly, deep fry these balls in a medium to low flame to be cooked evenly. you can also pan fry it in appe pan to make it a healthy and tasty gobhi ka kofta.
